The story and philosophy of Quantaro

Preserving the magic of the real thing

My name is Nikolai. I'm a web developer and the creator of Quantaro.

Nikolai Mirzoyants, creator of Quantaro

The beginning

When I first discovered Tarot and tried reading with a physical deck, I was drawn to the cards' imagery, their symbols, and the way the whole experience felt. You think about your question, shuffle the deck, and listen to yourself. The cards are already in front of you, but the answer is still hidden.

I wanted a way to return to this ritual online. I looked for easy-to-use websites, tried different services, and came across interesting ideas. But I never found the combination of beauty, freedom of choice, and a sense of ritual I was looking for.

At some point, I thought: I know how to build websites. Why not try making one myself?

A connection to the real world

How the idea took shape

I carried the idea with me for a long time. I wanted to combine what the modern web could offer with respect for Tarot. I thought through how to bring not just the deck but the sequence of the ritual itself to the screen. The shuffle especially intrigued me: I wanted the digital cards to carry a touch of the real world.

I found the answer in quantum randomness. There are sources that generate random numbers by measuring physical phenomena, including quantum vacuum fluctuations. The idea captivated me: the order of the cards could be linked to the randomness of the physical world itself. Even space that seems empty could play a part in shuffling the deck.

I finally understood how to connect the technical side with the feeling that had inspired it all. And I decided to start building Quantaro.

You choose when to begin. Quantaro requests data from a quantum source and uses it to shuffle the deck.

A specific card is already hidden behind each card back. You choose intuitively and only then discover which card you've drawn.

For me, this is where the magic of the ritual lives: the deck is ready, but you don't yet know which card you'll reach for. You can wait for a sign or simply trust your intuition. What you see in the card remains part of your own story.

Your path

Everyone has their own path to the cards

Once I'd figured out how to bring this sequence to life, I got to work. Today, Quantaro is my passion project. I spend a lot of time on it: reworking what I'm not happy with yet, trying new approaches, and revisiting the details.

I dream of creating a place you'll want to return to. With your question, your hopes, your curiosity. A place where modern technology carefully preserves space for ancient symbols and personal mystery.

It's a place I want to visit myself, and I hope that, in time, you'll feel the same.

You don't have to see Tarot the same way I do. Everyone can have their own reason to try it.

If Tarot is already part of your life

If you have a deck of your own, try bringing your familiar practice to the screen. Interpret the cards yourself and see how the experience compares.

If you're new to Tarot

Start with one card. Look at the artwork and read the explanation. You don't need to know the card meanings beforehand.

If you're interested in unusual digital projects

Tarot may not resonate with you at all. If you're curious about how physical randomness determines the order of the deck, that's reason enough to give it a try.
